WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — By the end of the week, every employee at Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools will know whether their job is safe. That's a long time to wait when it comes to your career.

Up to 350 jobs will be cut from the district, 100 of them belonging to exceptional children staff. None of them have been notified if they've been cut, keeping them all on edge.

Fear and uncertainty. It's a pain many within Winston-Salem Forsyth County School District are facing.

Especially those working with exceptional children like Lee Childress.

"Every day we don't know, is one less day we can prepare when September 12th comes," Childress said.

Come September 12, 100 people like Childress will be out of a job.
