The Hermantown girls showed strength in all ages on Wednesday, placing three runners in the top seven to win the Rock Ridge Cross Country Invite at Virginia Golf Course.

The Hawks edged Hibbing 49-51 for top team honors on a day for depth. The Hawks had three runners in the top seven, while the Bluejackets had four places in the top 10.

Chisholm sophomore Olivia Pascuzzi was a clear race winner, completing the 5-kilometer course in 20 minutes, 30.6 seconds, nearly 10 seconds ahead of runner-up Elaine Jackson of Grand Rapids and 13 in front of third-place Molly Brophy of Ely.

Hermantown and Hibbing runners ended up being seven of the next eight across the line.
