"Immediately after the 17-year-old shooting, we had the 15-year-old shooting. Then immediately after that, we had a seven-month-old," she says.
"They have animosity and hatred towards their neighboring, their peers, and that was leading to a lot of the violence. And they're also coming from areas like we spoke of, that's just, poverty-driven and lack resources," explains Contessa Thompson with the coalition.
