LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - School shootings bring up emotions and questions for families with school-aged children.

After hearing about the mass shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, MN, leaders. in central Ky. are looking for way to help families and students cope.

“Where are we safe anymore? Where are our children safe anymore?” Evangelist for the Diocese of Lexington, Father Jim Sichko said.

Father Sichko said the students at Annunciation Catholic School were doing something Catholic students all over the world do: going to mass.

“Most of the Catholic schools are set up right on the church’s property, so you have the church, you have the school and the kids just walk over to school and walk over to church,” Father Jim said.
