Neighborhood Art & Music School co-owner Anna Thomas said the school’s mission—to make art accessible, be a creative outlet for self-expression and nurture confidence and passion— has remained unchanged since its founding in 2008. She said this mission applies to students of all ages.

“Adults also need a space where they feel accepted and encouraged to express themselves and be creative. In some ways, I think it's even more meaningful because a lot of adults feel like it's too late or they don't have time for it.” Thomas said. “[Create] that space where you can explore these things and don’t be afraid to jump in and try stuff.”
