Iowa Cubs

The Iowa Cubs were a gremlin to the Las Vegas Aviators (Athletics), 11-9.

Spencer Turnbull lasted just 2.1 innings and got rocked for eight runs on nine hits. He walked four and struck out one.

Porter Hodge tossed two scoreless innings of relief and got the win. Hodge allowed no hits. He did walk two while striking out three.

DH Carlos Pérez hit two home runs tonight, giving him 23 on the season. The first home run came in the third inning with a man on and the second one tacked on an insurance run in the top of the ninth. Pérez went 2 for 5 with three runs scored.

Shortstop Ben Cowles was 3 for 4 and scored three runs.

Right fielder Parker Chavers went 2 for 3 with a double, a walk and a steal. The double plated two runners in the third inning.
