A fatal collision between a train and a vehicle occurred in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, on Wednesday morning. The incident took place around 9:40 a.m. in the 25800 block of Lougheed Highway. Police from Ridge Meadows RCMP responded to what they described as a "serious motor vehicle incident."

Authorities confirmed that the crash involved a single vehicle and a train operated by Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC). The company stated that it is currently investigating the cause of the incident.

This collision marks the second train-related accident in Maple Ridge within two days. The previous incident involved a vehicle and a train near Lougheed Highway east of 272nd Street. In that case, a patient was transported by air ambulance to a hospital in critical condition, according to a spokesperson for B.C. Emergency Health Services.

Following Wednesday's crash, Lougheed Highway was temporarily closed but has since reopened. CPKC reported that none of the train's crew members were injured in either incident.
