GRANDVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) — Leadership is more than a quality at Grandville High School — it's a responsibility. For senior Keegan Kroll, it's a role he embraces every day, whether he's in the classroom, on the football field or on the track.

"One of the first things I noticed about him is his personality and the way that he's able to just talk to anybody, and is willing to talk to anybody," Joel Kleinsasser, one of Kroll's teachers, said.

That ability to connect has helped Kroll make a difference for his classmates too. Kleinsasser recalled a moment when another student was struggling socially during group work and Kroll didn't hesitate.

"He was just bold and just turned around and was willing to talk to this person," Kleinsasser said. "And then they joined in and participated."
