GRANDVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) — At Grandville High School, opportunity is taking flight. A recently launched aeronautics program is preparing students for careers in aviation, from piloting drones to earning college credit toward a pilot's license.

For senior Jackson Delozier, the program is more than just an elective. It's a pathway.

"My brother is becoming a pilot right now in college," Delozier said. "He took me in his first test flight on a Young Eagles flight and ever since then, I've been in love with planes and flying."

Delozier is now taking the aeronautics class for the second time. The first year, he learned the ins and outs of drone operation. This year, he's advancing into the fundamentals of flight training — the kind of coursework college aviation students don't usually see unt
