Aug. 27—Overland Trail Museum's monthly History Café program returned on Wednesday with an examination of the incredible life of Lelia Mae Hinkley.

Before sharing details about Hinkley's life, Museum Curator Kay Rich credited museum staff member Brian Jesteadt with finding much of the information she shared, noting that not much is known about her.

Hinkley was born in Sterling on Feb. 11, 1892, to Henry and Georgia Hinkley and died on Sept. 22, 1987, at the age of 95 and is buried at Riverside Cemetery.

Her father moved to Logan County in 1888. He was an attorney by profession and became the county clerk in 1891 and was also the county attorney. Henry married Georgia Olds in 1891 and together they had three children. The family resided in a home on S. Third Street, on the opposite corne
