BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Just how much of your child’s school work is really their own?

That’s the question teachers across the region are trying to answer as artificial intelligence ramps up in schools.

The latest data shows that only three Vermont school districts have some sort of AI policy.

Educators tell me it’s an uphill battle to keep up as AI quickly evolves.

On the turf, Essex High School students Eva Harton and Kanchan Pradhan train for soccer tryouts.

In the classroom, they’re preparing for another year of learning with artificial intelligence.

“I think some kids definitely use it to their advantage and use it to cheat and stuff. But for me personally, I think it’s an asset,” said Pradhan.
