ESSEX JUNCTION, Vt. (WCAX) - The midway rides are among the most popular attractions at the Champlain Valley Fair in Essex Junction . But how do you know if they’re safe? Our Darren Perron found out.

And there was a major food collection effort underway at the fair on Thursday to benefit the Vermont Foodbank-- and fairgoers. People who brought two nonperishable items for the food bank before 2 p.m. got free admission, and bringing four nonperishables also saved them $10 off a ride bracelet.
