Including prominent alums like former Gov. Dave Treen, musician Al Hirt, NFL Hall of Famer Aeneas Williams, and a lawyer, Morris Bart, who coined the phrase "One Call, That's All" — all proud Tarpons.
"Was Fortier a special place for you and so many others?" asked WDSU's Travers Mackel.
"Yes, when you talk to someone who went to Fortier, they'll tell you they bleed blue, not red, they bleed blue," said Norris Williams.
But on Aug. 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina brought an end to Fortier High School at Freret and Nashville Uptown.
It was one of several schools to never come back after the deadly storm.
