State government in Florida has earned its authoritarian bonafides in its overbearing efforts to rid cities of their locally approved gay pride crosswalks, an initiative out of Tallahassee that obliterates any pretense that locally elected officials have the ability to represent their constituents' interests. It's a particularly precarious situation for the city of Delray Beach.
