Claire's is shutting down 7 stores in N.J. malls

Next time you visit a New Jersey mall, you will notice that this teen jewelry retailer will be no more in some malls across the state.

Claire’s , which recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy for the second time in seven years, is closing seven of its Claire’s and one of its Icing brand stores in New Jersey.

The closings and bankruptcy filing come as similar retailers, such as Forever 21 and Rue21 , have gone through bankruptcy proceedings and later closed all their stores.

It is unclear whether Claire’s will close all their stores, but recent bankruptcy court filings show that Claire’s is closing 234 locations and would keep 950 stores open.

A timeline for the closures has not been provided.
