LANSING — Okemos High School retained its No. 1 spot for the region in high school rankings by U.S. News & World Report this month , but there was definite movement in Greater Lansing's Top 10 .

Pewamo-Westphalia Middle/High School bumped East Lansing High School out of the No. 2 spot, Grand Ledge and Williamston high schools also moved up compared to last year, and Bath High School dropped to No. 11, allowing Holt Senior High School to grab 2025's No. 10 spot for the region.

The report ranks public schools nationwide, statewide, and in metro areas based on criteria like graduation rates, college readiness and test scores. The report also documents how much of the student population is diverse.
