Brian Harris, who led Tennessee Right to Life and helped secure Tennessee’s most significant contemporary abortion restrictions, died on Aug. 23. He was 57.
An obituary placed by Harris' family and friends did not specify the cause of death.
Harris retired from Tennessee Right to Life in 2020, right before his greatest legislative achievement came to fruition when a “trigger ban” went into effect following a U.S. Supreme Court decision overturning Roe V. Wade .
