WILLIAMSPORT — Williamsport police say they are reviewing a Childline and another report submitted to them about a teacher’s alleged conduct with a special education student at Williamsport Area High School.

Assistant Chief Jason Bolt on Wednesday confirmed the receipt of the reports about a student being strapped to a backboard — a stiff board on which an injured person and especially one with neck or spinal injuries is placed and immobilized — because the teacher thought he was sleeping through a test.

A formal investigation has not been launched, he said. Lycoming County District Attorney Thomas A Marino said his office is also looking into the incident.
