WATERTOWN – On August 15, Watertown Police arrested Sandra Leary, age 65, of 117 Cherry Avenue, on charges of five counts of cruelty to animals. The charges stem from an ongoing investigation by the Watertown Police Department’s Animal Control Division.

The Watertown Police Department’s Animal Control had been conducting animal welfare checks at 117 Cherry Avenue for the past three years, where four (4) dogs, one (1) cat and one (1) bearded dragon lizard/gecko reside with the resident/pet owner. Animal Control had been working with Leary to ensure the animals were being properly cared for and receiving veterinary attention.
