IOWA CITY — There is so much excitement this week among Iowa football's fervent fan base that we finally get to see a Hawkeye game for the first time since December.

And accompanying the Hawkeyes’ Aug. 30 season opener vs. Albany (5 p.m. CT, Fox Sports 1) at sold-out Kinnick Stadium, there has been ample discussion about what constitutes success in a game that the home team is favored by 5½ touchdowns.

For what it’s worth, here is what head coach Kirk Ferentz said on the topic.

“First and foremost, yeah, we want to win the game,” he began.
