Netflix has canceled the crime drama “The Waterfront” after one season.

The news came as a shock to many fans, especially considering the show’s ratings. “The Waterfront” stayed on Netflix’s Top 10 for 5 weeks and racked up 11.6 million views within a week of its premiere.

Some viewers pointed out that “The Waterfront” had better numbers than “Ransom Canyon,” another 2025 Netflix series which got renewed for a second season.

“This was one of the most-watched premiere cancellations of all time on Netflix. It gets even stranger when we see that Ransom Canyon had less viewership and was renewed,” one fan wrote via X.
