To the Editor:
On September 16, all Oakville and Watertown voters have been asked to decide how the water and sewer customers should pay for the $34 million debt owed to Waterbury.
I am appealing to the well and septic residents of Watertown. Please skip the referendum on the $34 million bond that only ratepayers are paying. Let those of us who are impacted be the ones to decide how we will pay for this disaster brought upon us by the Republican Party.
If my rates had been raised to what Waterbury billed in 2018, I would have paid approximately $240 more per year. Now my increase will be about $1,400. I am only one person. How will a family of 4 handle this?
Our leadership wants us to believe they fought the rate increase to keep Waterbury from charging whatever they want in the future
