Girls tennis: Cabrillo 5, Righetti 4

The Conquistadores began their 2025 campaign by edging the Warriors Tuesday.

Geneva Walker won her singles match 6-0, 6-1 for Cabrillo after teaming with partner Isabelle Lara for an 8-0 doubles win.

Emily Fulghum boosted the Conqs with a come-from-behind 5-7, 6-4 (10-5) singles win. Jayden Becerra and Leah Salavarria scored an 8-3 doubles win for Cabrillo.

At press time, Cabrillo was to host Lompoc Valley rival Lompoc Wednesday.

Dos Pueblos 7, Santa Ynez 2

Claire Tipich and Ainsley Haws won 8-1 at No. 3 doubles, and Danielle Hyland won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3 singles for the Pirates (1-1), who lost an intra-sectional match at Santa Ynez to the Chargers of the CIF Southern Section.
