MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- For decades, Ted's Restaurant has stood the test of time, serving up the Connecticut staple, steamed cheeseburgers.
Located in Meriden, the spot first opened in 1959 by Ted Dubarek. Now, his great-nephew Bill Foreman has taken the reins after growing up working at the business since his teenage years.
"The clientele, watching them change as they got older and then their families started growing up...Basically, those are the fondest memories," Foreman said.
Taking the historic joint into the 21st century, Ted's now has three food trucks offering their menus on the go.
Using custom-made steamers, each burger comes with your choice of classic toppings of tomato, lettuce, onions and more. Beef patties are placed in individual trays to be steamed.
