Fall arrives early: We’re calling summer over in D.C.

Halloween displays are already filling store aisles, and it seems Mother Nature got the memo. Summer has checked out, and fall has arrived earlier than we can remember.

For much of the second half of August, temperatures have felt more like late September. We see no sign of a dramatic shift that would bring back midsummer heat.
