SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - House Bill 594 is one of many laws from Missouri’s recent session that go into effect Thursday, and it might save families some money.

The bill makes diapers, menstrual products, and adult incontinence supplies exempt from state sales tax.

This means, on average, shoppers will save about 50 cents on a box of tampons and $1.50 on a box of diapers.

According to the Missouri Department of Revenue, there are no restrictions on the exemption. You also do not need to fill out any forms, since the exemption will be applied at the point of sale.

For more information, you can visit the department’s FAQs information page on the exemption.
