The National Assembly of Quebec has updated its website to reflect a 7.5 per cent salary increase for MNAs, an increase of nearly $10,000.
According to La Presse, the base salary has risen from $131,766 to $141,625—an increase of $9,859 this year.
In addition to their base salary, most National Assembly Members (MNAs) receive supplementary compensation for holding parliamentary roles, including ministers, for example.
This additional allowance is also being increased by 7.5 per cent.
Changes by Legault government in 2023
The salary increase follows changes made by the Legault government in June 2023 to the Act respecting the conditions of employment and the pension plan of MNAs.
