MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa —
A 19-year-old man has been arrested for attempted murder after a robbery and shooting in Marshalltown.
Marshalltown police say Nicholas Olivares, of Aplington, shot one person and hit a second person in the head with a handgun during a robbery on Tuesday night at Nicholson Ford Park on Marion Street.
Both victims had items stolen from them.
After an investigation, Olivares was arrested and charged with attempted murder, two counts of first-degree robbery, willful injury, two counts of assault while participating in a felony and going armed with intent.
Marshalltown police say the victims in this case were targeted by Olivares.
Additional arrests are expected as the investigation continues.
