When head coach Jeff Choate walks his Nevada team into an under-renovation Beaver Stadium on Saturday to face Penn State , chances are he’ll take a long moment to appreciate his surroundings.

“It’s going to be an awesome opportunity for our guys to go embrace a really cool environment, unveiling the new digs there and to go to one of those Saturday shrines,” Choate said in his press conference this week.

“If I told my 16-year-old self that someday I’d be in the same stadium that Joe Paterno coached in, I’d be pretty fired up about that,” he continued. “I know I’m excited about the opportunity, and I think (the players) are as well.”
