Tributes have been paid to a pensioner who died while climbing a Scottish mountain with a group of friends at the weekend.
Nirmal Singh Atwal fell ill while climbing Sgurr nan Gillean on the Isle of Skye on Saturday, August 23.
It's understood the 75-year-old Sikh had been climbing the mountain with other Sikhs, and he was hailed as "an incredible friend" and "a really, really great person" by devastated pals .
A Sikh tradition known as Sehaj Paath, which sees Guru Granth Sahib, the Sikh Scriptures, read from beginning to end, began on Tuesday, the Central Gurdwara Glasgow said.
Friends have taken to social media to pay their respects.
