ECHOLS COUNTY, Ga. (WCTV) - An Echols County man was arrested Thursday morning.

According to the Echols County Sheriff’s Office, Cameron Williams, a wanted fugitive, was inside a Homerville home.

Several people were removed from the residence and the owner gave law enforcement permission to search the home.

Officers asked Williams to leave the home and surrender multiple times, per law enforcement. After an hour and a half of Williams refusing to leave, flash bangs were deployed and the United States Marshals Service entered the building.

They found Williams hiding in a closet behind plastic totes and under a pile of clothes.

Williams was taken into custody and treated for injuries he sustained during the arrest. After being medically cleared, he was taken to the Lowndes County Jail,
