CAPE CORAL, Fla. (WBBH) - For one Florida man, the Bat-Signal was an alert on his wife’s phone. Still in his Batman pajamas, he jumped out of bed and answered the call.

Kyle Myvett says he was asleep around 2 a.m. Wednesday when his security cameras notified him of someone breaking into his truck outside his Southeast Cape Coral home.

“I was sleeping. My wife was coming out of the bathroom, and she noticed an alert on the phone,” Myvett said.

Wearing his Batman pajamas, Myvett jumped out of bed and went outside to look into the disturbance. He tells police he found 20-year-old Justin Schimpl rummaging through his truck before the suspect entered his neighbor’s garage.

That’s when Myvett swooped in, detaining Schimpl until police arrived.
