Claire’s, a mall boutique chain favored by tweens, teens and young women, is set to close more than 290 stores, including several in Michigan, as part of its bankruptcy process.

The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy for the second time since 2018 earlier this month, but it wasn’t immediately clear which stores would be closing.

The locations were revealed in a court filing on Monday, and it likely would have been more if the retailer didn’t sell its North American business to private equity firm Ames Watson for $104 million last week.

The firm says it is committed to keeping the brand afloat.
