CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Akron hosts Wyoming tonight in the season opener (7 p.m.) and head coach Joe Moorhead thinks QB Ben Finley will be a difference maker for the Zips.
Moorhead’s in his 4th season with Akron; the team went 4-8 last year after back-to-back 2-10 seasons.
Finley, a senior captain from Phoenix, threw for 217 yards per game in 2024, accounting for 16 TD passes and 9 interceptions.
Akron has 46 new players: 33 transfers and 13 true freshmen.
Wyoming is favored by 5.5 points.
