ROCHESTER, Minn. – A man accused of killing his wife has been sentenced.

Scott Douglas Loven, 75 of Rochester, was charged with second-degree manslaughter and criminal neglect over the death of Iris Jean Anderson, 93.

Police found Anderson’s body in her bathtub on May 8, 2023. Court documents state that Loven was the caretaker for his wife because he had dementia, memory problems, and was losing her hearing and vision.

Loven told officers he could not remember when his wife died because he had been drinking since it happened.

The medical examiner’s report says Anderson had a fracture in her right shoulder, contusions on her right arm and right eye, and a cut on her scalp that went down to the bone. Anderson’s cause of death was listed as homicide.
