KELOWNA, B.C. — Several individuals were injured in a boat collision on Okanagan Lake near Kelowna on Wednesday evening. According to the West Kelowna RCMP, a powerboat ended up lodged on top of another vessel during the incident.

The crash occurred around 8:40 p.m., approximately 500 meters south of the William R. Bennett Bridge. Passengers on one of the boats sustained non-life-threatening injuries and received treatment from BC Emergency Health Services.

Authorities confirmed that impairment and weather conditions were not contributing factors in the collision. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Initially, there were concerns about whether anyone had fallen into the water. However, police later confirmed that all individuals involved were accounted for. The Kelowna Fire Department assisted in removing the damaged boats from the area.

This incident highlights the importance of safety on the water, especially during busy boating seasons.
