Affordable housing lottery in Brooklyn with rent as low as $978

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) -- A new housing lottery in Brooklyn has opened, offering units starting at $978 a month.

The apartments are available at The Carroll, a new residential development at 33 4th Street in Carroll Gardens.

The Carroll has one studio at $978 a month. A single person or a couple with an income between $38,400 and $51,840 would qualify.

The building has 8 one-bedroom apartments available for $1,040 a month. A household of up to three people making between $41,280 and $58,320 would qualify.

Building amenities include a gymnasium, a children's playroom, a rooftop terrace, and a shared laundry room.

The property is listed on the NYC Housing Connect website, an online portal where people can find and apply for affordable housing opportunities in New York City.
