HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police are investigating a double hit-and-run that occurred in Kalihi in the early hours of Thursday morning.
According to police, the incident happened at around 12:03 a.m. on Nimitz Highway.
Police said a 50-year-old male pedestrian was lying in the roadway of the eastbound lanes of Nimitz Highway when he was struck by an unidentified motorist.
Police said the motorist did not stop to render aid and continued driving.
After the initial collision, the victim was struck by a second unidentified motorist traveling eastbound on Nimitz. Police said the second driver also fled the scene without stopping to render aid.
EMS transported the victim to hospital in serious condition. Officials said he is now in critical condition.
