Chelsea and Manchester United have now agreed a fee for Alejandro Garnacho for £40million.

The Blues were looking to strike a deal for under the initial £50m asking price, and they have achieved that.

Chelsea initially came in with an offer of £25m, but after negotiations between the two, a deal of £40m has been agreed.

Man United have also secured a ten per cent sell-on clause, while it is their biggest sale of an academy product.

The Argentine will now complete the formalities of the deal and sign a seven-year contract.

Chelsea had multiple bids rejected for the 21-year-old, who has already agreed terms with them.

A deal for RB Leipzig's Xavi Simons remains possible, but there is no club-to-club agreement yet, which is why Tottenham Hotspur have made their move.
