CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) -The Catholic school shooting in Minnesota is on the minds of people here in the Carolinas.
In the Charlotte-Metro area, local school districts and law enforcement are reminding parents they are prepared in the event of an emergency.
Assistant Chief Corey Copley with Pineville police knows parents are now on edge especially at the start of a new school year. He also said these tragedies serve as training examples for officers so they can stay prepared in a worst case scenario.
“It comes to a point where you just, you know, you have to stay ready, not get ready,” Copley said.
