CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - It’s a local election year for Mecklenburg County voters, and Charlotte residents will be choosing their next mayor.
WBTV’s Dedrick Russell is interviewing Charlotte mayoral candidates to learn about their platforms ahead of the 2025 election.

About the 2025 election
Charlotte’s primary election is scheduled for Sept. 9, and early voting for that election began Aug. 21. Charlotte is the only city or town in Mecklenburg County that’s hosting a primary election in 2025.
The general election for all Mecklenburg County races, including those in Charlotte, will take place on Nov. 4.
