CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A major Charlotte interstate will be shut down for hours on Sunday for Uptown’s Around the Crown 10K .
The unique race gives participants a “once-in-a-lifetime” opportunity to run the entirety of Charlotte’s three-mile major inner loop, Interstate 277.
However, that means the highway will be closed for at least 10 hours on Sunday, Aug. 31.
Traffic impacts
The Inner Loop of I-277 will be closed on Sunday from 2 a.m. until at least noon.
Additionally, a portion of Mint Street will be closed from 3 to 10 a.m. That includes West 4th Street to West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
