HAND COUNTY, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - One person is dead and three more are injured after a multi-vehicle crash east of Highmore, SD, on Wednesday.

In the morning hours of Aug. 27, three motorcycles were traveling westbound on US Highway 14 near 346th Avenue.

The driver of a 2008 Chevrolet K1500 was traveling eastbound when he crossed the center line and drove on the wrong side of the road.

The first motorcyclist, a 78-year-old male from Redfield, SD, was able to avoid the Chevrolet and had no injuries.

The second motorcyclist, a 77-year-old female from Redfield, SD, collided head-on with the Chevrolet and died from her injuries.

The third motorcyclist, a 70-year-old female, avoided the crash by riding into a ditch, where she separated from her motorcycle. She sustained non-life-threa
