Gilbert Public Schools recently brought together hundreds of its volunteers for training and support at its Volunteer Network Expo.
The theme of this year's VNET Expo was "Together We Shine."
Volunteers are involved in multiple roles on GPS campuses, as Parent Teacher Organization presidents, Watch D.O.G. role models, classroom event organizers, athletic booster members and more.
VNET plays a role in supporting all of these GPS volunteers, ensuring that the PTOs and boosters have the necessary training to be successful.
The Expo took place Aug. 16 at Highland High with 460 volunteers registered to attend. Volunteers wore their school-branded t-shirts. Subjects covered included:
Booster fundraising;
Unlocking volunteers potential;
First year of being a volunteer board member;
