PROVIDENCE – Gov. Dan McKee wasn't planning to make his latest run of judicial appointments until sometime after the legislature reconvenes in January, but Senate leaders may force his hand.

In recent days, they've gone head-to-head with McKee over the legality of his rehiring former Commerce Secretary Stefan Pryor , and putting him back to work immediately at his former $238,597-a-year salary.
