After a summer's worth of naming the top All-State teams from the last quarter-century, the sports staff of Bill Koch, Eric Rueb and Jacob Rousseau is wrapping things up as we turn our attention to fall sports coverage. Here is The Providence Journal Quarter-Century All-State Football Team's offense:

QUARTERBACKS

Bob Bentsen, Warwick Veterans (2004-07)

There weren’t many quarterbacks who played as confidently and effectively as Bentsen did during his three-year span as the starter for the Hurricanes. There wasn’t a better quarterback in Rhode Island during his tenure and he graduated as the state record-holder in passing yards at 6,642 and finished his career with 85 touchdown passes. Bentsen went on to play at the University of Rhode Island and became a three-year starter for the Rams.
