Gov. Dan McKee is among the Democratic governors taking a public stand against President Donald Trump 's "threats and efforts" to deploy the National Guard to states that have not requested or consented to his "alarming abuse of power."

“This chaotic federal interference in our states’ National Guard must come to an end," the 19 governors, who are by virtue of their positions are the "Commanders in Chief" of the National Guard in their states, said in a joint statement issued on Aug. 28.
