SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Louisiana Public Broadcasting is mourning the loss of Dorothea Wilson, co-anchor and reporter for Louisiana: The State We’re In (SWI), who passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 26, 2025

“LPB has lost not only a valued staff member but also a remarkable individual whose dedication and kindness touched everyone with whom she worked,” said Clarence “C.C.” Copeland, LPB president and CEO, in a news release.

According to a news release, Wilson joined LPB in September 2024 after reporting in Monroe, La., and Little Rock, Ark. Originally from the West Bank of New Orleans, she returned to South Louisiana to be closer to family.
