WEST ASHLEY, S.C. (WCBD) - The Lowcountry Center for Conservation opened its doors after nearly 20 years in the making. It is also the new headquarters for Lowcountry Land Trust.
The historic Ashem farm sat on Old Towne Road near Charles Towne Landing, and it's now where the new environmental hub is located. The space is a "dream come true for conservation and for recreation." The site was previously passed down for generations with its last owner dedicating around 50 acres of the estate to Lowcountry Land Trust to preserve.
