MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. ( WALA ) - A 25-year-old Saraland woman remains in Mobile County Metro Jail since her arrest Wednesday on multiple drug charges and manslaughter, according to records.
The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office said Payton Beason was arrested on those charges as the result of an investigation of a fentanyl overdose death in Chickasaw Monday.
The MCSO said it was just after 8 p.m. Monday when it was contacted by the Chickasaw Police Department to investigate the death of Kailin Laporte, whose body was found at a residence on 8th Avenue.
Investigators said Beason and Tyler Thompson, 32, of Tuscaloosa, delivered fentanyl to Laporte.
Both Beason and Thompson were found by investigators at a hotel in Saraland, and both agreed to be interviewed about the overdose, the MCSO said
